Would you like to see lots of sparkly gems? Is your Inner Raccoon craving stimulation? Would you like to know what kind of gem is in grandma’s ring?
Gems of the Hill Country invites you to help us celebrate the wonderful world of gems. We join with gems cutters from around Texas, including members of Texas Faceters Guild, in presenting our latest gem creations. Saturday, October 25, from 10-5, we will exhibit gems from all over the world, as well as gems from Texas. Purchase a gem and receive a discount on the jewelry mounting.
Maybe you have a favorite piece of jewelry, but don’t know what the gem is. Graduate gemologists will be on hand to identify any unknown gems you may have.
Gems of the Hill Country is the full service jewelry store for western Kerr County. We can help with jewelry repairs, appraisals, custom jewelry, gem cutting and repair, and pearl stringing. We specialize in natural topaz from Mason County, Texas. Located at 200 Hwy. 39, just past Moore’s Lumber. Texas-topaz.com.
We would like to thank Diane Ferrell and Anne Schneider for the article in Kerr County People, y'all did such a good job!
Welcome to Gems of the Hill Country.
We are a group of proud native Texans celebrating our home. We create gems and jewelry made from Texas gem materials- especially topaz, our state gem. Texas topaz is found only in Mason, Texas, and was designated the state gem in 1969. Come visit us across from the historic Thomas Moore Hardware store in Ingram on the Hunt Highway 39, and find a bit of Texas to wear every day. If the drive is a bit much, feel free to call, Email, or order straight off this site. If you do not find the perfect gem, let us custom cut one for you.

You’ve made it to Mason, maybe even did some rockhounding, and you’re standing on the Mason courthouse square- and Gems of the Hill Country is not there. Maybe you only now realize that your favorite source for Texas topaz jewelry is not here. Never fear- we’ve got you covered. Just northwest of the courthouse square, on 87, is Mason Resale Barn. There’s a showcase by the cash register, and there you will find some of our special gems. Later, when you make another trip to the Hill Country, come see us in Ingram.
